Washington callers contribute to national call-in day success

On November 30th, Social Security Works Washington called on its member organizations to join the National Call Congress Day. When the Congressional switchboard went down because it was overwhelmed with too many calls, we knew your efforts had been successful. Here are the numbers:

  • Washington callers placed 1,218 calls — 5th best out of all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
  • Patty Murray’s office received 633 calls, while Maria Cantwell’s staff reported 583.
  • All told, our National Call Congress Days generated more than 30,000 calls from across the country and sent a strong message, “Hands off our Social Security!”

In our battle to defend and strengthen Social Security, your voice is critical to our success. Thank you for your continued support!
